Busy, Busy, Plan & Pack

This week has been full to say the least. We hit the ground running as soon as we returned from vacation. It is training week for our Event Staff at Cho-Yeh, while our summer camp team is catching up on the volumes of camp registrations that came in over the holidays. In the midst of all this, at least twice a day, we look up and say… “I can’t believe we are going to Honduras on Sunday!” The reality has not yet set in, which I am afraid means a sleepless Saturday night in anticipation (and probably some last minute packing.)

Our daily Honduras planning meetings have been the most interesting… and a little humorous. You should see our packing list: dodgeballs, slingshots, rocks, a sound system, door hinges… All the ingredients to bring our wild and wacky camp games to the orphanage in Honduras. We had to strike the spray paint. We didn’t think it would make it through security at the airport. Do you think TSA might need a letter in our baggage explaining some of this stuff?!

In the midst of all this busyness, the most important preparation has been to stop and have some quality time with God. He is definitely preparing my heart and mind for this trip. I would like to share an excerpt from my devotional this week:

“RELAX IN MY HEALING PRESENCE. As you spend time with Me, your thoughts tend to jump ahead to today’s plans and problems. Bring your mind back to me for refreshment and renewal. Let the Light of My Presence soak into you, as you focus your thoughts on Me. Thus I equip you to face whatever the day brings. This sacrifice of time pleases Me and strengthens you. Do not skimp on our time together. Resist the clamor of tasks waiting to be done. You have chosen what is better and it will not be taken from you.” – Jesus Calling, by Sarah Young. (Psalms 105:4, Luke 10:39-42)

So, the preparations continue, and so does the day-to-day operations at Cho-Yeh. Please continue to pray for us as we prepare to leave:

That we will rely on God to provide, and not be overly anxious in preparing for this trip:

“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” (Matthew 6:31-33 NLT)

Thank you all for partnering with me and our team as we go on this trip, and bring the impact of Cho-Yeh to kids and families in Honduras. The response has been great, but there is still more needed.

If you would like to support our team financially, go to: www.cho-yeh.org/donate
1. Create an account (1 minute)
2. Enter your debit/credit card information (2 minutes, depending on where you put your glasses)
3. Designate your One-Time-Donation as: “Other – Cory in Honduras” (1 minute)

Cost = less than 5 minutes of your time and a few bucks. Kingdom Impact = priceless.

Camp Cho-Yeh is a 501c3 Non-profit charity, and donations made to Cho-Yeh on my behalf are tax deductible. Donations above the $1,100 will be applied toward the Honduras trip fund and will be used to enhance the effectiveness of the trip.

Details about our trip can be found in my first post: “We are going where?!”
